Exiled in Paris: Richard Wright, James Baldwin, Samuel Beckett, and Others on the Left Bank
Published in Hardcover by Scribner (February, 1995)
Author: James Campbell
Average review score:

Fascinating reading
After the end of the Second World War, a number of African Americans, including many of our most talented intellectuals, decided that America was just not a sufficiently hospitable home. Those who could left for Europe. Many, landed in Paris, which provided a far more civilized society.

Literary giants like James Baldwin, Richard Wright and other intellectuals found a place where their worth was determined by things more significant than skin color. This is the story of their experiences.

Another book worth searching for.

This book was very well researched and written. I started reading it three days ago and could not put it down. After finishing it in 3 days I find myself very eager for Volume 2.
I strongly recomend this book to anyone with any remote interest in the civil war.

An excellent read for true Ramsey Campbell fans. Very rare, hard to find stories in the heroic fantasy genre with Campbells own unique touch.

Field Guide to Wildflowers, Trees and Shrubs of Texas (Texas Monthly Field Guide Series)
Published in Hardcover by Gulf Publishing (November, 1991)
Authors: Delena Tull, George Oxford Miller, and Margaret Campbell
Average review score:

More than just a great little field guide....
I own several field guides to Texas wildflowers, and I find this one to be the best among them. There are books with bigger and better photographs, but none come close to having the nearly 400 color photos this one has. This one also has maps of growing areas for each plant identified and very clear descriptions of each plant. It even has sections on Texas' endangered species and landscaping with native plants.

The book divides the plants into five sections for easy use. The wildflowers are further divided into colors to help find and identify them quickly. The five sections are (1) herbaceous wildflowers, (2) vines, (3) trees and shrubs, (4) cacti, agaves, yuccas and other succulents, and (5) miscellaneous plants, weeds and growths on trees. These are followed by appendices on how to identify common plant families and "plant watching" as a hobby (collecting plants, how to make a plant press and save your specimens, and a sample wildflower documentation sheet). Finally, there are three glossaries and an index.

While some might complain that the plant photographs are not printed with the specimen entries (they are grouped together in the center of the book), this is really quite handy. Each photo is numbered identically with the entries, so matching the photo with the description is really very simple. Indeed, it is quite easy to find the flower by its photo and then look up the corresponding plant description by the photo number.

All in all, this is the only wildflower field guide Texans will need. If you want a desk reference, that's another matter.

Financial Management in a Managed Care Environment
Published in Paperback by Delmar Learning (19 March, 1998)
Authors: Claudia Campbell, Homer Schmitz, and Linda Waller
Average review score:

The first comprehensive book on managed care!
This book not only deals with inpatient managed care concepts, but also with the ambulatory issues as well, which turn out to be quite different than those in the acute care world.

Fine Frights
Published in Paperback by Tor Books (August, 1988)
Author: Ramsey Campbell
Average review score:

Ramsey Campbel can dish it out...
...but can he take it? That is the question the full title of Fine Frights raises, for its subhead is Stories that Scared Me. Of course what may scare one person may bore another to tears. No need to be afraid of that here, for Campbell's taste in fear fiction is exquisite. I can guarantee that at least two of the tales collected here will have your skin crawling, while several others will no doubt sent icy shivers dancing up and down the length of your spine. These frights are fine indeed. Highly recommended.

Form and style : theses, reports, term papers
Published in Unknown Binding by Houghton Mifflin Co. ()
Author: William Giles Campbell

Hard to find. . . .
Right now, Amazon and competitors are only able to get this book through used channels, but it is worth it. This book got me through college and every department wanting a different citation style. It is spiral bound, lays flat and includes the three major styles: MLA, APA and Chicago (aka Turabian). If you need a reference guide for writing papers, this is the best i've seen.
